Update on Pahiatua Water Project

The pipework has been connected to the Kliptank and all the welding completed. This will enable water to be taken from the Bore supply and or the Mangatainoka River. We are chlorinating the water at this point then it is pumped to the Wakeman Street reservoir for use in the reticulation.

The pipework for the UV unit connection has been put together ready for installation. This is to be positioned in the ground ready for the container with the UV unit already installed to be placed on site.

The last of the welding process by the engineer is being completed at present. A small amount of ground work to level the site for the container will be required once it arrives at the site.

Following this, the last of the pipework can be fitted ready for commissioning.

A temporary 2000 cubic metre tank is being installed at present to give the township some extra water storage during the summer period.

This will enable Council to construct a four-and-a-half day storage reservoir. This work is scheduled to commence in January 2017.
