Civil Defence Volunteers Needed!

The public are invited to attend a volunteers meeting at the Totara College in Ruahine Street, Dannevirke on Monday, 12 September 2016 at 7:00pm.

Totara College Civil Defence (CD) Centre are looking for new volunteers to help staff the Centre in the event of an emergency - all the necessary training will be provided.


Presentation of the Tararua Civic Honour for Voluntary Community Service

Tararua District Council has much pleasure in inviting members of the public to a presentation of the Tararua Civic Honour for Voluntary Community Service to:

The public ceremony will be held in the Woodville Old Folks Hall, 61 McLean Street, Woodville on Friday, 9 September at 10:30am. Followed by morning tea.

ENROL TO VOTE!

Nominations have now closed for the 2016 triennial local authority elections. Details of the confirmed candidates for elections within the Tararua District Council area can be found on our website at www.tararuadc.govt.nz/latestnews.

Tararua District Council residents who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these elections can enrol by calling 0800 36 76 56, visiting www.elections.org.nz or obtaining enrolment forms at postshops or Taraua District Council libraries or offices up to 4pm on Friday, 7 October 2016.

Tararua District Council ratepayers who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these elections can obtain enrolment forms at Tararua District Council libraries or offices up to 4pm on Friday, 7 October 2016.

Special voting facilities for the above elections will be available during normal office hours between Friday, 16 September and Friday, 7 October 2016 and from 9am to 12 noon on Saturday, 8 October 2016 from all Council Service Centres.

Invitation to Meet the Candidates - Public Forum

The Eketahuna Community Board invites the community to a meet the candidates public forum to be held on Thursday, 8 September 2016 commencing at 7:00pm in the Supper Room of the Eketahuna Community Centre, Haswell Street, Eketahuna.

This forum provides the opportunity for members of the public to hear from the candidates that have been nominated for the following:

  • Mayor of the Tararua District Council
  • Tararua Constituency Regional Councillor for the Horizons Regional Council
  • Members of the MidCentral District Health Board

Your attendance at this forum is most welcome, and the Board encourages the public to take an interest in the elections through being present to meet the candidates and to cast your votes that will determine these community representatives for the next three years.
