Get Active Tip

Getting started: Almost 10 weeks has passed since I offered you a New Year challenge. If anyone has started or attempted the challenge, I would love to hear from you. You might be in for a nice surprise!

If you are reading this for the first time, back in December I challenged readers to focus on improving their health and get more physically active. We started by walking our neighbourhood block (or 1-2km). Now it is time to increase our distance and intensity!

The challenge now is to walk 3-5km and add in a light jog. The best way for first time joggers is to start by jogging between 1-2 power poles then walk 1-2. Repetition and perseverance is the key, stick to it and in no time you will see improvements in your fitness and strength.

If you would like to create a different route check out, www.mapometer.com or www.mapmyrun.com and design a personalised walk to suit you.
