Public Notices: 19 September 2016
The following notices (or advertisements) were published on the Tararua District Council's page in the Bush Telegraph on Monday, 19 September 2016.
For more information, or if you have any queries about these, please contact the Council's Communications Team on 06 374 4080.
The chance to re-register your dog without late penalties has now passed. Animal control will now begin following up owners who have failed to re-register their dogs.
All dogs registered in New Zealand for the first time must be microchipped within two months of registration (with the exception of farm dogs used for stock control). A microchip is a simple and permanent way of identifying your dog. The main benefit is that we can link your dog to you so, in the event that it is lost or stolen, we are able to get your pet back to you when it is found.
If your dog fits the microchipping criteria but is yet to be microchipped, please ensure you contact your local vet to arrange this service and then present your microchip certificate at any of our Service Centres so we can update your dog’s details. If you have already microchipped your dog but want to be sure that we have been provided with the information, please contact us and we can let you know.
Council is happy to answer any questions you may have regarding Animal Control. You can get in touch with the Council team by phoning 06 374 4080 (north) or 06 376 0110 (south), alternatively you can email email@example.com.
