Do you have an innovative idea for a new business, a new invention, or a creative solution to an everyday problem? Then it may be time to consider entering Innovate 2017!
Innovate is an annual competition run by BCC (Building Clever Companies) that helps entrants turn their business ideas into reality.
One of several sponsors of the competition, Tararua District Council, has - through the Tararua Business Network - encouraged people with an idea or those that can fix problems, to enter Innovate to help turn their idea into hard cash and a viable business.
The competition offers entrants the opportunity to attend a number of events, including a ‘How to Pitch’ workshop and the Innovate Weekend - a 24-hour, all-hands-on-deck experience that will show each contestant what start-up life is like.
A previous entrant, Alister Ramsay of ‘Retro Radios’ Dannevirke, encourages anyone with a great idea to enter.
"I really enjoyed the whole process of the competition and it put me on the right track with my own business. I’d recommend others give it a try it, it’s really worth entering."
The closing date for entries is 8 September 2017. Entry is easy and can be completed online through the Innovate website.
