Alfredton School is a small rural country school in the Tararua District. The school is located in a peaceful, quiet area and enjoys the benefits of a highly supportive community.
The school's motto is Inspiring learning for a lifetime ~ Little acorns to mighty oaks. The motto is based around the 80 year old oak trees lining the orginal entrance into the school. In the 126 years the school has been open, they have sent many learners out into the world. They ensure their students are able to reach the aim of a 'mighty oak' by offering an innovative, inspirational and conceptual curriculum that is based around the needs of the student. Students and whanau are actively involved in the learning within the school and there is an open door policy that the school endeavours to ensure is the norm of the school.
School staff are interested in the whole child and take a holistic approach to teaching. Staff aim to enhance students talents and interests while supporting them to grow and develop.
Alfredton School is a member of the Bush Community of Learning, and work together as a cluster of schools to ensure all schools in the Tararua District get the best possible opportunities and learning outcomes for all students!
