Eketahuna School

Eketahuna School is the local school for the Eketahuna township and district. They work with a diverse population of approximately 110 – 125 students. The children can be categorized primarily as ‘country kids’ who, outside of school, enjoy the benefits that a rural lifestyle can bring.

Eketahuna School has a strong and dynamic team approach and places great emphasis on the quality of relationships between staff and children, parents and community. The school is well resourced with a major feature being the excellent use of information communication technologies (ICT) to support students learning. Students at Eketahuna School are active and take full advantage of the spacious and attractive grounds. The children are involved in a variety of activities at all levels including rugby, soccer, netball, hockey, basketball swimming and tennis.

The school is well supported by their excellent, hard working Board of Trustees, Home and School Association, parents and caregivers.

Eketahuna School is a member of the Bush Community of Learning and work together as a cluster of schools to ensure all schools in the Tararua District get the best possible opportunities and learning outcomes for all students!
