We have available the following resources:
Newspapers: BUSH ADVOCATE (Dannevirke): 1901 - various issues on microfilm. DANNEVIRKE ADVOCATE: 1901-1912 - on microfilm. We are missing the following issues on microfilm: Jul-Dec 1909 and Jan-Feb 1920. DANNEVIRKE DAILY PRESS: 1904-1908 - on microfilm. DANNEVIRKE EVENING NEWS: 1908- August 1974: - almost all issues, on microfilm. September 1974-now :- almost all issues are on microfilm and we have almost all of the original newspapers (both are able to be accessed). We are missing the following issues on microfilm: May-Dec 1903, Mar-Apr 1920, Sep-Oct 1933, Jan-Sep 1975, Sep-Oct 1994, Nov-Dec 1994.
Issues on microfilm can be viewed at the Dannevirke Library on our microfilm reader, which can be printed from.
We have an alphabetical listing of births, deaths and marriages compiled from the Dannevirke Evening News covering the period from 1921-1971.
Cemetery Records: We have on microfilm the New Zealand Society of Genealogists' Cemetery Records covering the whole country.
Registrar General's Office Index: We have on microfilm Births from 1840-1940, Marriages from 1840-1930 and Deaths from 1840-1930.
Information Files: Our information files contain some historic photos, various jubilee and anniversary booklets from schools and other institutions. We also have extracts from various publications about the history of the area.

Dannevirke, the early years: Copies of this excellent history of Dannevirke and the surrounding district are available for sale from the Dannevirke Library. Out of print and unobtainable since 2002, this book by Rob McDonald has now been reprinted and is available at a cost of $45.00 plus $6.00 p & p.
