The Tararua District into Alert Level 2

As from 6am Sunday 28 February, the Tararua District is at COVID-19 Level-2 for a period of 7 days.  This means all Council services will continue while Council Service Centres and Library Branches will remain open with a few added precautions.

  • If you’re sick, stay home. Do not go to work or school. Do not socialise. If you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms, call your doctor or Healthline and get advice about being tested.
  • If you have been to Auckland recently and visited “locations of interest” then you must self-isolate for 14 days as a casual contact and if deemed to be a close contact you must get tested.  The list of locations may be updated at any time.  Please refer:  COVID-19: Contact tracing locations of interest | Ministry of Health NZ

Please sign into our service centres/library branches with the COVID-19 tracing app and enable Bluetooth. This helps with rapid contact tracing if it’s required.  Alternatively, sign the book at each Council location to record your visit. The App details can be found here: https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-resources-and-tools/nz-covid-tracer-app

We ask you please adhere to physical distancing recommendations of at least:

  • 2 metres in public and in retail stores, like supermarkets and clothes shops
  • 1 metre in most other places like workplaces, cafes, libraries, restaurants and gyms.

We also ask you to please wear a face mask when in situations where physical distancing is not possible, (i.e. shops).  You are legally required to wear a face mask or covering on all public transport and flights throughout New Zealand.

And lastly, please remember to be kind.
