3 waters service connections (wastewater, stormwater and drinking-water)
In May 2020, Tararua District Council welcomed applications from local contractors interested in becoming a Council Approved Service Provider (or “approved contractor”) for the 3 waters service connection work (wastewater, stormwater and drinking-water).
These service connections are currently provided by the Tararua Alliance – a collaborative working agreement between Downer NZ and Tararua District Council. By enabling external contractors to carry out this work, the Tararua Alliance are able to concentrate on managing council’s core services and infrastructure. It also gives local contractors an opportunity to secure business for the future.
As at 19 June, Council has evaluated the applications from local contractors and will soon be meeting with successful applicants to discuss the works.
As of 1 July 2020, service connections for the 3 waters will be carried our by local contractors. More information on the new process will be made available to the public on this date.
