Tararua on Track Fund The Tararua District has secured $1 million for urgent maintenance and resilience works on farms, as part of the Ministry for Primary Industries $35.4 million package to support the recovery of rural communities affected by North Island Weather events, including Cyclone Gabrielle.

Government Cyclone Recovery Unit Newsletter – includes an update on confirmed changes to the bright-line test for cyclone-damaged properties, central government support to Nelson homeowners affected by Cyclone Gabrielle and confirmed resilience projects to state highways.

Community marks opening of the Marainanga Gorge Road. The road was extensively damaged during Cyclone Gabrielle, with approximately 300m completely washed away into the Aohanga River, and has not been open to the public since February 14.

Te Radar visit a resounding success - On Friday 25th of August, the Tararua Cyclone Recovery Programme and Rural Support Trust hosted well known New Zealand comedian Te Radar in Tararua, visiting some of the people most affected by Cyclone Gabrielle.
