The Council is seeking an Environmental Technical Officer to join the Regulatory Department and help keep Tararua a safe place to live.

This role supports delivery of environmental health and alcohol licensing services while providing excellent customer service.  It carries out duties as required by the Health Act 1956, Food Act 2014, the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and directly related legislation and applicable policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.  It protects the environment and the health of the community by ensuring food, liquor and other businesses fulfil the legal requirements governing their standards of service. It promotes the minimisation of risk from trade waste and hazardous substances.

Local government experience is desirable, with experience in a similar role an advantage.
