We are looking for an experience road network and asset management professional to lead transport services in the Tararua district. At almost 2,000 kilometres, the Tararua District Council local road network is one of the largest in New Zealand. Challenges are numerous and opportunities for improvement are endless.

As Transport Manager, you will lead the development and oversee implementation of transport related strategies, policies and plans, manage Council’s legal responsibilities and obligations as a road controlling authority, and work closely with the Tararua Alliance (our collaborative partnership with Downer NZ) to oversee Council’s service delivery performance.

You will provide technical leadership, support and advice, while developing and enhancing collaborative relationships with Council’s iwi partners, funders and key stakeholders.

Reporting to the Group Manager – Infrastructure, this role requires a passion for people and technical leadership, infrastructure asset management, and for supporting Council to successfully meet commitments to our community in a positive and collaborative way.
