My principal place of residence is in the South Tararua Ward area.

As a fourth term Councillor and resident for 42 years, I know the district well and understand competing demands for ratepayers’ money. For the first time in 30+ years the district’s is growing. Demand for housing and building sections is rapidly outpacing supply, making rezoning urgent.

A new District Plan is essentially complete, but for last minute government intervention. I want to ensure that it happens as planned. Virtually every business and work place relies on the wellbeing of the farming hinterland - or on passing traffic - requiring our roading network to be well maintained and our towns inviting. It is essential that ultra fast broadband is available throughout the district.

Rightly or wrongly, our water and waste water will become part of a larger Council controlled organisation including the rest of the Wairarapa Councils. I want to ensure that we get our fair share of the deal.
