Susan Lyford

My principal place of residence is in the North Tararua Ward area.

I’ve been a homeowner in Dannevirke for the last 8 years, and a business owner in the allied health sector for the last 3 years. Previous work has been in the timber, banking, local body and retail sectors.

Through living in both rural and urban areas I have developed an understanding of life and needs of those in these areas and believe in giving back to and volunteering in our community. This coming term for Council is going to be challenging with changes in legislation and directions indicated by government. The matters of infrastructure and affordable rates needs to be addressed with fiscal responsibility in mind.

I have spent a number of years presenting submissions on the annual plan and am ready to take the next step and work within council for the benefit of our district.

Currently I’m involved with the Ruahine Ramblerz Marching team, Toastmasters and Viking Choir.
