On 5 May, Central Government announced that councils have 3-months to discuss and develop possible amalgamation options for their areas. This could mean us combining with other councils.
From 18 to 31 May, we met with our communities and asked them tell us what options they most/least preferred, and why.
- 409 people shared their views online or by using the printed form
- Over 500 people joined us in-person at community meetings
- Countless people reached out to have meaningful conversations about what this might mean, and what's important if things do change
