PUBLIC NOTICE - PROPOSED PLAN CHANGE A:
CALL FOR FURTHER SUBMISSIONS

Clause 7, Schedule 1, Resource Management Act 1991

Tararua District Council gives notice that it has prepared a summary of the decisions requested in submissions on Proposed Plan Change A.

Plan Change A focuses on residential and industrial rezonings to support growth for Tararua across our four main towns. A total of 61 submissions were received.

Viewing the submissions

From 19 October 2026, the Summary of Decisions Requested by Submitters report and full copies of the original submissions can be viewed online at the links below, or at any time during Council opening hours at:

  • Dannevirke Service Centre (26 Gordon Street)
  • Dannevirke Library (1 Station Street)
  • Eketāhuna Service Centre (31 Main Street)
  • Pahiatua Service Centre (136 Main Street)
  • Woodville Service Centre (45 Vogel Street).

Who can make a further submission

  • any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest;
  • any person who has an interest in the Proposed Plan Change greater than the interest that the general public has;
  • Tararua District Council.

What a further submission must include

A further submission may only support or oppose an original submission and must give reasons. It cannot raise new matters. It must state the original submission point it relates to (for example, 1.1), as listed in the summary table in the Summary of Submissions report. Please also state whether you wish to be heard in support of your further submission.

Further submissions must be in writing on Form 6 of the Resource Management (Forms, Fees, and Procedure) Regulations 2003. Forms are available at the service centres above or can be downloaded from the link below.

IMPORTANT: You must serve a copy of your further submission on the person who made the original submission within five (5) working days of lodging it with Council. Each submitter's address for service is included in the Summary of Submissions report.
