Kerbside Recycling in Norsewood and Ormondville
Kerbside recycling is coming to Norsewood and Ormondville!
Tararua District Council is rolling out kerbside Mixed Recycling Bins and Glass Recycling Crates to Norsewood and Ormondville in March 2026. The first collection will be on Thursday, 26 March 2026, which will be the mixed recycle bin.
This change brings these communities in line with Dannevirke, Pahiatua, Woodville, and Eketāhuna, where bins were successfully introduced a few years ago.
Why the change?
Until now, recycling in Norsewood and Ormondville has been collected in cardboard boxes by a private contractor. This service ended in November 2025, giving Council the opportunity to provide a more reliable and consistent service across the district.
