Pahiatua Information Centre

5 October 2026

The Pahiatua Information Centre Incorporated Society has announced that the Pahiatua Information Centre will close on 29 October 2026.

The Society made the decision following careful consideration of a range of challenges, including volunteer availability, rising costs and not being able to secure enough external funding.

Council recognises the important role the information centre has played in the community and has provided long-standing financial support to the service. Council respects the Society’s decision and the challenges it faced.

Council is working closely with the Society, local businesses and community organisations to help ensure that a number of services provided by the Information Centre remain available in Pahiatua after 29 October, they include:

  • Intercity bus bookings Pahiatua Customer Services
  • Computer enquiries, scans, emails and photocopying Pahiatua Library

  • Community Local knowledge Pahiatua Customer Services or Library
  • Murrays Contractors (rubbish collection services) Pahiatua Op Shop from 1 November 2026

Tararua District Council would like to thank all of the Information Centre Volunteers, past and present, for their significant contribution to Pahiatua over many years of operation.
