Dannevirke Town Hall's refresh is well underway

16 March 2026

Painting has begun on the exterior of the Dannevirke Town Hall – its first full repaint in 20 years.

This important maintenance work is helping to reseal cracks, protect the building from the elements, and preserve one of Dannevirke’s most recognisable heritage landmarks.

And here's a local detail: the main paint colour being used is Dulux Dannevirke - named after the town itself, with the roof colour being Dulux Taihape. How cool is that?!

To celebrate the history behind this project, we’re also sharing a photo of the Town Hall from 1936, a reminder of just how long this building has been at the heart of the community.

The Town Hall remains open for bookings, pedestrian access along High Street is unchanged, and the nearby car park is still open with only limited spaces unavailable.

The road behind the building remains closed while work continues.

Thanks for your patience while this work progresses, we’ll be back with the finished look soon!
