Plan Change A: What happens next?

Tararua District Council is taking the next step with Plan Change A, which looks at making more land available for housing and industry to help our district grow.

We received 61 submissions on the proposed changes, and now it's time for the next stage – called further submissions.

So, what does that mean?

This is an opportunity for eligible people and organisations to support or oppose something raised in an original submission, and explain why. It's not a chance to raise new issues.

Further submissions can be made by people who represent a relevant public interest or have a greater interest in Plan Change A than the general public.

From Monday 19 October, you can read what people have said, along with a summary of the changes they have asked for, on our website or at Council service centres and the Dannevirke Library.

Further submissions close at 5pm on Tuesday 3 November 2026.
