Woodville Phase 1 overnight resurfacing works to commence in February

NZTA Waka Kotahi will be conducting phase 1 of its asphalt resurfacing works on State Highway 2 (SH2) in Woodville over the period 8 - 24 February. The resurfacing will take place between McLean and Ross Streets. Phase 2 will occur on State Highway 3 (SH3) later in February after completion of the phase 1 works. The exact phase 2 dates will be provided when the dates are confirmed.

Light Vehicle Detour

  • Light vehicle users will need to detour using Tay Street, down to Station Street and back onto SH2/McLean Street.
  • Traffic Management will change during the day. From 6am - 6pm northbound traffic will travel through the worksite on SH2.
  • All southbound traffic will continue to use the detour.

Freight and Heavy Vehicle Detour

  • Freight and heavy vehicle users will need to detour from SH3 to Woodlands Road to Oxford Road to Pinfold Road and back onto SH2.
  • This detour will be in place 24/7 for the duration of both phase 1 and phase 2 resurfacing works (5 weeks).
  • Temporary traffic lights and a temporary 10 km/h speed limit will be in place at the Oxford Road bridge.
  • Heavy vehicles under 70 tonnes, including HPMV, are able to use the Oxford Road detour as long as the 10 km/h speed restriction is adhered to. The Pahiatua Track is the alternative route.
