How to enrol and where to vote

Local Government Elections

Voting documents for enrolled voters will be arriving in the mail very soon and completed voting
forms can be submitted by return post immediately or by dropping them into an orange voting
bin at any of our voting locations from 9 September until 12 noon on 11 October.

If you're new to the district or not enrolled yet, you can still vote, please read the following key
information you need to know about enrolling and doing a special vote.

Residential Electors (living in the Tararua district): If you're not on the final electoral roll, you can
enrol until 5pm, Friday 10 October 2025 and you will need to cast a special vote.

Ratepayer Electors (those who own property in the Tararua district but live elsewhere): If
you're not on the roll, get  a form from: Tararua District Council Office, 26 Gordon Street, Dannevirke or
apply online at: www.electionz.com/ratepayer

Special Voting
Available from Tuesday 9 September to Friday 10 October, during normal office hours.
Also open Saturday 11 October, 9am–12 noon at the following locations:

  • Main Office, 26 Gordon Street, Dannevirke
  • Customer Service Centres: Woodville, Pahiatua and Eketāhuna

Special voting is available for those who enrol after 1 August or who have spoilt, lost or did not
receive their voting papers in the post.

Our orange voting bin locations from 9 September until 12 noon 11 October are:

  • Scandi Superette, 19 Coronation Street, Norsewood
  • Dannevirke Service Centre, 26 Gordon Street, Dannevirke
  • Pongaroa Café and General Store, 10818 Route 52, Pongaroa
  • Woodville Service Centre and Library, 45 Vogel Street, Woodville
  • Pahiatua Service Centre, 136 Main Street, Pahiatua
  • Eketāhuna Service Centre and Library, 31 Main Street, Eketāhuna
