Bridge Inspections for February 2026

The Tararua District has around 500 bridges and to ensure they continue to be structurally sound, Tararua Alliance carries out an annual bridge inspection programme.

Bridge inspections continue, with engineers giving each one a thorough once-over for damage, wear, or anything that needs a touch-up. This involves structural engineers checking each bridge for signs of damage or decline, and any repairs needed are put into the bridge maintenance programme.

While the bridge inspection unit is on each bridge, there may be delays of up to 20 minutes. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
