Holiday processing for building, LIM, food and alcohol-related applications
3 November 2025
LIM and Building Applications
Councils have to follow statutory legal timeframes for processing certain applications. Statutory timeframes are the legal deadlines councils must meet when processing these applications.
For 2025/26, the timeframes for LIM and building related applications will pause from 20 December 2025 and resume on 11 January 2026. To ensure your application is processed before the holiday period:
LIM applications must be submitted by 5 December 2025
Building consent applications must be submitted by 21 November 2025
Building packet applications must be submitted by 21 November 2025
Applications received during the statutory holiday period will not be due for completion until 26 January 2026 (LIM) and 10 February 2026 (building consents and building packets).
Food & Health Licences, Special Licences and Managers Certificates
We will not be processing or reporting on any applications or renewals from 20 December 2025 until 12 January 2026. To ensure applications for food or special licences and manager certificates are processed before the holiday period, these must be received before 14 November 2025.
Applications submitted after this date will still be accepted, but we cannot guarantee they will be processed before the holidays.
Any unfinished applications will resume processing on 12 January 2026.
