Dangerous Goods training delivered on Mayors Task Force for Jobs
Smart Environmental recently engaged AllTrain Ltd. to provide specialised training for staff to obtain Dangerous Goods Licence endorsements. The one-day course covers the legislative requirements, documentation processes, and safe practices for transporting hazardous substances, ensuring participants meet national compliance standards.
The Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) programme was able to leverage this locally delivered training opportunity by referring four rangatahi candidates to attend.
One of these rangatahi, Alex H. (pictured with his certificate next to facilitator Frans Nel), entered the programme with a Class 2 Licence. Through the MTFJ he has added a Dangerous Goods endorsement and Traffic Management Operator certification, placing him well for immediate employment.
The success of our programme reflects the value of collaboration between local employers, training providers, and the Ministry of Social Development (MSD).
Appreciation is extended to Punga Mullins, Smart Environmental Manager, and Maria Bayley, Managing Director of AllTrain Ltd, for their continued support of the MTFJ programme and commitment to workforce development in the Tararua District.
