Focus on water saving still necessary - Show us how you save water

It is fantastic to see that so many people are being proactive in saving water and reporting leaks. Last week Dannevirke saw a 3% decline in water usage, and in the month of February alone 42 leaks were reported to our teams. Your Tararua District Council elected members and staff would like to say thank you for this.

The Total Outdoor Ban for Pahiatua was lifted last Friday as water demand has decreased over the last weeks. In addition, work on the water intake can now be undertaken without having to rely on water from the reservoir. Pahiatua restrictions are now at Alternate Evenings.

Water restrictions for the other towns in the district remain the same. Following the rain we experienced in February, river flows are now dropping again so we need to keep up the good work of saving water to get us through the autumn period.

Your water saving efforts are making a big difference. We have heard of some great examples of good old kiwi ingenuity to help save water and would love to see them.
