Customer services update - Check road status, latest news, and more

During the recent severe weather, we received more than 40 calls reporting slips, washouts, potholes and fallen trees. These reports really helped Council gain an understanding of the full scope of damage to our road network. This is another great example of teamwork between community and Council and we would like to thank all involved in this.

Whilst our customer services team is always happy to help, the wait time to answer your call may take longer during such events.

Road current status website page.
The Tararua District has one of the longest road networks in the country. Our website has some handy features that provide information on the condition of our roads. Our teams try to update this as frequently as possible, especially during severe weather events. On this page there is detailed information about road closures, road maintenance and more. There is also an interactive map which shows which roads which are closed, single lane only, and more information. Please note that State Highways are the responsibility of Waka Kotahi – NZ Transport Agency.

Latest updates on weather and other events in Tararua .This section can be found on the bottom half of our tararuadc.govt.nz website page. This is where important events are posted by our teams, such as updates on the recent weather event in Tararua, and Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) updates on the water supply systems in our district.
