Tararua COVID-19 update

23 February 2022

We have received the following statement provided by MidCentral DHB COVID-19 Senior Responsible Officer Deborah Davies:

We can confirm that members of the community in the Tararua District have tested positive for COVID-19. These cases are located in Dannevirke and Pahiatua.

We now have confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in every district across our rohe (region).
With the shift to Phase 2, positive cases of COVID-19 are no longer managed by our Public Health Unit and are now managed by a national contact tracing organisation. Given this, we do not have access to the same level of information about each case as we did when case numbers were lower and the cases were managed by our internal team.
As COVID-19 is now widespread in the community, we now report new cases of COVID-19 at a DHB level daily, and will report weekly on how many COVID-19 cases are being cared for by our individual community hubs (Manawatū, Tararua, Palmerston North, Ōtaki and Horowhenua).
⚠️ COVID-19 testing⚠️
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please get tested.
