In accordance with Section 48 of the Building Act, Council has 20 working days to grant or refuse a building consent application. However, the period from 20th December to the 10th January every year is not classified as working days under the Building Act 2004.

Tararua District Council Offices will be closed from noon, 23 December 2022 until 12 January 2023. Therefore any building consent applications submitted after 21 November 2022 will be affected.

During this time, inspections are limited to emergency situations or those pre-arranged with the Building team.
