Are you and your family ready?

Published 10 Feb 2023

As many of you will be aware Aotearoa New Zealand is preparing for the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Gabriel.
Currently, there are no weather warnings or in place for the region. However, our teams are ensuring we are prepared for the potential impacts of Gabriel.

We have plans in place for our Tararua Alliance teams to be available to respond to damage as they occur.

There will be inspectors and patrol staff driving the network and focussing on high-risk areas such as Coast Rd and River Rd, reporting any damages caused.

We would like to encourage everyone to continue to report damage as it occurs. Even if you think it is something we may already know about. This helps us to plan and prioritise where our resources need to be.
Tararua District Council would like to encourage the public to take the weekend to prepare for the potential impacts of Tropical Cyclone Gabriel early next week.

Are you and your family ready? Take a look on the Civil Defence website for some advice on how you can prepare.

Also make sure to keep up to date with the latest weather warnings on Metservice.

If you need to report any damage. You can do so via the Antenno app.

Alternatively, our customer service teams will be available 24/7.
