Mayoral Relief Fund to help support Tararua communities

Published 20 Feb 2023

Tararua District Council would like to thank all the people, organisations and businesses who have reached out to us with very generous offers of support!

The Mayoral Relief Fund is open for donations to help support Tararua communities find their feet after the devastation caused by Cyclone Gabrielle.

The Mayoral Relief Fund is an easy and effective way for people to donate to one single, centralised fund and know their financial support will be spent on the most urgent needs and directed where it is needed most.

Tararua District Council Mayor Tracey Collis says: At this stage, financial support is one of the best ways you can help. Financial donations are the most useful as they help to provide what is really needed to those affected. It will take a lot for affected communities to recover, and every little donation will help.

Information on how residents can apply to the fund, will be released soon. To keep up to date with the latest on the response and to find other ways that people can support the Flood response effort – including volunteering and offers of support, please head to the landing page of our website,
